Brand-new dehumidifier shouldn’t have a big noise when runs in 30 minutes, otherwise the compressor or fan motor uses poor quality, this kind of dehumidifier is not qualified.

Brand-new dehumidifier will release smells when first several days, if the smells keep for a long time, like half month or more, then the main parts probably have issue, like fan, fan motor, compressor,etc

Yes, models with continuous drainage can run without manual bucket emptying when you connect the drain hose correctly. For pump-drain models, the pump discharges condensate automatically during operation.
