Cold room door (Also called cold storage door) refers to a door that installed in a freezing environment such as freezer or chiller for thermal insulation and airtightness.
Cold Room insulation design is mainly to block the heat transfer between the cold room and outside. High-quality cold room door will greatly enhance the thermal insulation effect of the cold room. And generally coordinate with air curtains, cold room door can effectively reduce the cooling loss of cold room.

There are 2 methods to produce cold room door core:
#1. Polyurethane (PU) Injection
Use PU pressure injection molding machine to produce. The polyurethane structure is dense, no shrink, and the door is smooth and beautiful.
#2. Thermal Insulation Panel
PU thermal insulation panel not only has a high strength but also has good thermal insulation effect; There is a safety device on the cold room door to escape easily once people are accidentally closed in the cold room.
Both sides skin uses stainless steel, color steel, alluminum alloy,etc.
The guide rails are made of rust-proof aluminum alloy, and have an anti-icing system. All screws are galvanized, with 2.0mm thickness stainless steel (or custom your material) edge seamless welded door frame, durable and non-deformation.

Not recommended for: Small cold rooms with low daily usage or sites with limited power supply.

Opening frequency: Max 80+ openings per day.
Size range: Custom sizes for people, carts, and forklift passage.
Optional features: Radar sensor, geomagnetic loop, remote control, impact-resistant curtain, safety photo eye.
Not recommended for: Deep-freeze rooms that need thick insulated door leaves, especially blast freezer applications.
Due to the temperature difference between inside and outside of the cold room, when open the door, the hot air passes through the gap to generate strong convection, resulting in cooling loss.
The amount of hot air entering the cold room is related to the height and width of the door, the temperature difference between inside and outside of the room, and of course the time and frequency of opening the door.
You should select a cold room door which opens and closes quickly, meanwhile had better set an air curtain.
#1. Select according to the temperature
If you choose a thinner thickness door for low-temperature cold room, it won’t achieve the ideal insulation effect, but will frost the door, and damage the door.
Chiller temperature is -15℃～+10℃, you can choose 100mm (10cm) thickness door; Freezer is -30 ~ -15℃, choose 150mm (15cm) thickness door; Blast freezer is -30℃～-45℃, you should choose 200mm (20cm) thickness door.
According to the temperature difference, the cold room door thickness can select from 50, 75, 100, 120, 150, 200, 250 mm.
#2. Select according to size
The cold room door size is not fixed, can be made of various sizes according to custom requirements. It can be divided into manual or electric one-leaf, double-leaves sliding door or hinged door, please choose the appropriate size and type of cold room door according to cold room application.
For example, if need forklift to enter and exit, you should choose an electric cold room door to facilitate entry and exit. For small cold room, only few people enter and exit, so can choose manually operate door.
Meanwhile, when installation, you must also understand the specific location of the cold room door. If choosing a sliding door, you need to have enough space to place the slide.
#3. Select according to the material
The cold room door frame can be made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel, color steel or PVC plastic. PVC is a poor conductor of heat, which can’t only effectively ensure a constant temperature, but also strengthen the load-bearing capacity of the door frame and guide rails. It can still be used at low temperatures.
Cold room door wrapping adopts stainless steel seamless welding or glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) which is impermeable, strong heat insulation and corrosion resistance.
The inner core of cold room door is generally made of polyurethane (PU) , PIR, or XPS material. XPS has good moisture resistance, high compressive strength, moderate price, stable performance and long service life. It is the best choice for cold room insulation materials.
