What is Dry Ice Machine?

Dry ice machine is a device that produces and dispenses dry ice, which is the solid form of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. Dry ice is extremely cold, with a temperature of about -78.5°C (-109.3F), and it doesn’t melt into a liquid but sublimates directly into CO2 gas.

The dry ice machine typically involves compressing and cooling gaseous CO2 to transform it into a solid state. The resulting dry ice is then either formed into blocks, pellets, fog, or snow-like particles depending on the machine’s design.

Classification

#1. Dry Ice Block Machine

These machines produce solid blocks or bricks of dry ice. The blocks are often used for packaging and shipping perishable goods, as they provide a large, dense mass of dry ice that sublimates more slowly than smaller particles.

#2. Dry Ice Pellet Machine

The machines create small, cylindrical pellets of dry ice. These pellets are commonly used in cold chain transport, catering, and cleaning applications, where the controlled size and shape of the pellets are beneficial.

#3. Dry Ice Blasting Machine

Also called “dry ice cleaning machine”, specifically designed for industrial cleaning applications, which use compressed air to propel dry ice particles at high speed, effectively cleaning surfaces without leaving residue.

#4. Dry Ice Fog Machine

Fog machines use dry ice to create a low-lying fog effect. This is achieved by adding hot water to dry ice, causing it to sublimate rapidly and produce a dense fog that stays close to the ground.

#5. Portable Dry Ice Machine

These machines are compact and designed for on-the-go applications, providing a convenient way to produce dry ice in various forms at different locations.

Dry Ice Machine Application

Dry ice machines find applications in various industries due to the unique properties of dry ice. Typical applications: Shipping and Transportation, Food and Beverage Industry, Cleaning and Surface Preparation, Entertainment Industry, Medical and Pharmaceutical, Fire Extinguisher Training, Cooling in Laboratories, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Oil and Gas Industry, Airline Catering, Dust Suppression, Hazardous Waste Cleanup, Carbon Capture and Storage, etc. These applications highlight the versatility of dry ice machines across different industries for tasks ranging from preservation and cleaning to entertainment and environmental solutions.

Checklists for Qualified Dry Ice Machine

#1. Machine Design and Build Quality

Check for a robust and durable construction of the machine components, including the housing, compressor, condenser, heat exchange, motor, etc, also the  sealing and welding between components.

Ensure that the machine is designed with user-friendly features for easy operation and maintenance.

#2. Performance and Output

Verify the machine’s capacity to produce the required amount and form of dry ice (blocks, pellets, fog, or snow) based on your application needs.

Assess the consistency and reliability of the dry ice output during operation.

#3. Safety Feature

Confirm the presence of safety features such as emergency shut-off mechanisms and pressure relief valves to prevent accidents.

Check for built-in safety interlocks that ensure proper functioning and user protection.

The FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Dry Ice Machine

Common types include cube ice machines, flake ice machines, nugget ice machines, commercial ice machine, tube ice machine, ice block machine, dry ice machine, and specialty ice machines for various shapes and sizes.

Speedway is committed to quality across all aspects of our business – our people, processes and products. We call this ‘the SPEEDWAY  standard’.

Ice machines typically work by pumping water to an ice tray, where it freezes. The ice is then released and collected in a storage bin. The process involves a refrigeration cycle and, in the case of flake ice machines, a mechanism to scrape or break the ice into flakes.

We welcome any sample order before big quantity purchase, that means 1pc is acceptable. For mass order quantity is 10pcs each model.

Regular cleaning is crucial. For most machines, a thorough cleaning every six months is recommended. However, the frequency can vary based on usage and water quality. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.

We have own factory to produce the main types ice machines, but we also do trading for other related products because we have resource to supply good quality and service.

Cloudy ice can be due to impurities in the water, inadequate filtration, or improper cleaning of components. Ensure that you’re using filtered water and regularly clean the machine as per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Yes,we have 5 senior engineers, 13 professional r & D team, 65 professional production personnel.

It’s not recommended. Tap water may contain impurities that affect the taste and clarity of the ice. Using filtered or purified water is advisable.
