Cách cài đặt và vận hành TXV trong phòng lạnh?

Mục lục

Correct TXV installation requires the right valve and orifice, reliable bulb contact and accurate pressure feedback. Poor installation can cause slow cooling, unstable superheat or liquid floodback. Repeated valve adjustments rarely solve these underlying problems.

This guide covers new installations and TXV replacements in direct-expansion cold rooms. Follow the specific equipment and valve manuals for piping, connection methods and acceptance limits.

Sự an toàn: Only qualified refrigeration technicians should perform this work. Lock out electrical power, recover refrigerant as necessary and confirm safe pressure conditions before opening the system. For flammable refrigerants, follow the system-specific ventilation, leak-detection and ignition-control procedures.

Understand TXV Installation Layout

In a typical multi-circuit evaporator, refrigerant passes through the TXV and distributor before entering the evaporator circuits. The sensing bulb monitors the outlet suction pipe. The external equalizer provides pressure feedback from the corresponding outlet region.

txv-installation-layout

Figure 1. Conceptual layout for one evaporator with external equalization. Follow the equipment drawing for actual routing and connections.

Thành phần Chức năng Installation check
TXV Meters refrigerant into the evaporator Confirm model, flow direction and service access
Nhà phân phối Divides refrigerant among circuits Check nozzle, circuit count and orientation
Bóng đèn cảm biến Tracks outlet pipe temperature Check location, contact, straps and insulation
External equalizer Transmits suction pressure to the valve Confirm pressure source and a clear connection
Test points Support temperature and pressure checks Match measurement locations and allow repeat testing

Để ý: Sensing bulb doesn’t measure room temperature. Its capillary tube and the external equalizer perform different functions; never interchange them.

Check Valve and Matching Components

Matching connection sizes don’t guarantee compatibility. Some TXVs use interchangeable orifices, so one valve body can serve several capacities.

txv-component-matching

Mục Confirm Avoid
chất làm lạnh Exact refrigerant compatibility Assuming similar refrigerants use the same valve
Ứng dụng Evaporating range and cooler/freezer duty Substituting a medium-temperature configuration without checking
Valve and orifice Full model and orifice code Checking only the valve body
Equalization Internal or external pressure feedback Omitting an external equalizer connection
Dung tích Load, inlet liquid conditions and available pressure drop Selecting only by compressor horsepower
Element charge Application range and any MOP feature Ignoring model suffixes
Connections Kích cỡ, joint type and pressure rating Treating a physical fit as approval
Nhà phân phối Body, nozzle and circuit arrangement Assuming the old distributor suits every replacement valve

For a replacement inquiry, provide the old valve nameplate, orifice identification, chất làm lạnh, evaporator model and design conditions. A valve photo alone may not identify the correct replacement.

Internal vs. External Equalization

Valve type Nguồn áp lực Main consideration
Internally equalized TXV Valve outlet through an internal passage Keep evaporator pressure drop within the manufacturer’s limit
Externally equalized TXV Near the evaporator outlet through a separate line Account for evaporator and distributor pressure drop

A distributor and its tubes add pressure drop. For the conventional TXV/distributor arrangement in this guide, use external equalization as the equipment manufacturer requires. Never cap an external equalizer port and operate the valve.

Install Valve Body and Connections

txv-installation-protection

Confirm Flow Direction and Access

Follow the valve arrow and model instructions. Don’t infer flow direction from the body shape or assume every TXV supports reverse flow.

Leave room to reach the adjustment cap and serviceable parts. For interchangeable-orifice models, allow enough clearance for future replacement.

Prevent Mechanical Stress

Support the piping so the valve doesn’t carry pipe weight or alignment stress. Avoid forcing connections into position.

Route the bulb capillary without sharp bends, tension or contact with abrasive edges. Never pull the capillary to reposition the bulb.

Use the Correct Connection Method

Connection Key checks
Flare Flare quality, clean sealing faces, alignment and specified torque
Brazed Compatible materials, heat control and internal cleanliness
Serviceable fitting Correct seals, assembly sequence and tightening method

Use a dry-nitrogen purge according to the approved brazing procedure. Keep contaminants out of the refrigerant circuit. Never pressure-test with oxygen.

Follow the valve manual for disassembly, heat protection and joint preparation. Different valve designs may require different methods; don’t apply one wet-wrap or heating procedure to every model.

Mount the Sensing Bulb Correctly

The bulb needs firm thermal contact with the suction pipe. Insulation cannot compensate for a loose bulb or an air gap.

Choose a Suitable Outlet Pipe Section

Prefer a suitable straight, horizontal suction section near the evaporator outlet. Align the bulb with the pipe and avoid locations that collect liquid or oil.

Keep the bulb away from external heat sources and large components that can distort its temperature response. Don’t move it downstream of a suction-line heat exchanger that adds heat beyond the evaporator outlet.

Follow Model-Specific Clock Positions

Check the pipe outside diameter and valve instructions before choosing a clock position.

Ví dụ, certain Danfoss T2/TE2 instructions specify mounting regions from 1 ĐẾN 4 o’clock or 8 ĐẾN 11 o’clock. Apply those instructions only to the products and conditions they cover.

lắp đặt cảm biến nhiệt độ 01

TXV Sensing Bulb Installation

Don’t turn a single clock position or pipe-diameter threshold into a universal rule. Avoid the bottom of the suction pipe, where oil and liquid can affect the reading.

Check Vertical-Pipe Applications Separately

Horizontal-pipe clock positions don’t define vertical mounting requirements. Check whether the manufacturer permits the actual flow direction and layout.

Some Sporlan guidance allows a descending vertical suction section under specified conditions. That doesn’t approve every riser, trap or vertical location.

txv-equalizer-epr-location

Inspect Contact, Mounting and Insulation

txv bulb contact check

Figure 2. Check bulb contact before adding insulation. This side view doesn’t specify a mounting clock position.

Kiểm tra Correct practice Corrective action
Contact surface Clean pipe and full bulb contact Remove contamination and eliminate gaps
Mounting Manufacturer-specified straps or clamps Secure any bulb that slides or rotates
Vật liệu cách nhiệt Follow coverage and moisture-protection requirements Repair gaps, loose sections or wet insulation
Surroundings Minimize external thermal influence Review nearby heaters, hot pipes and large fittings
Capillary Maintain a smooth, supported route Correct tension, kinks and abrasion risks

In multi-evaporator systems, each bulb should track its own evaporator outlet. Don’t relocate bulbs to a common suction header without design approval.

Connect the External Equalizer

The equalizer must provide pressure that represents the suction line at the bulb location.

A common arrangement places the connection near and immediately downstream of the bulb. Some equipment designs use a suitable header or return-bend connection instead.

Site condition What to check
Evaporator pressure regulator near the outlet Take pressure from the evaporator side as the design requires
Several evaporators share a suction header Confirm the pressure reference for each circuit
Equalizer tap sits far from the bulb Evaluate pressure loss between the two locations
Equalizer line has a kink or blockage Restore the pressure path before adjusting the valve
External port has no connection Complete the required connection; never operate with a capped port

Để ý: Check the pressure relationship, not just whether the tap sits before or after the bulb. A pressure-control valve or significant line loss between the locations can invalidate the feedback.

Install and Check the Refrigerant Distributor

The distributor divides the refrigerant mixture among parallel evaporator circuits. Its nozzle, tubes and operating load all influence distribution.

For background on operation and designs, read our guide to refrigerant distributor function and types.

txv-distributor-inspection

Does the Distributor Always Need to Point Downward?

KHÔNG. Follow the specific distributor and evaporator instructions.

Some Sporlan distributors allow several orientations. Vertical upward or downward feed can improve performance across varying conditions, depending on the design and TXV connection.

Don’t alter an approved piping arrangement simply to force a downward orientation.

Check the Nozzle and Distribution Tubes

Mục Điều tra
vòi phun Confirm identification, size and correct assembly
TXV-to-distributor connection Preserve the specified arrangement; avoid unapproved extensions or elbows
Distribution tubes Check circuit count, đường kính, length and routing
Flow paths Look for crushed tubing, solder blockage or capped outlets

Tube length affects capacity and pressure drop. Don’t shorten one branch merely to simplify routing, or confuse the TXV orifice with the distributor nozzle.

If circuits show different frost patterns, investigate airflow, load and distribution before increasing TXV flow.

Complete the Prestart Checks

Don’t start the system immediately after connecting the valve.

Kiểm tra Confirm before startup
Leak testing Complete the specified test and record the result
Evacuation and dehydration Meet equipment requirements and verify vacuum holding performance
chất làm lạnh Confirm refrigerant, charging procedure and charge record
Piping and valves Check operating positions, sealing caps and supports
Hệ thống điện Verify supply, hệ thống dây điện, protection and grounding
thiết bị bay hơi Check fans, airflow clearance and drainage
Controls Xem lại nhiệt độ, rã đông, fan-delay and alarm settings
Instruments Confirm test points, refrigerant selection and pressure units

Don’t copy test pressure, evacuation limits or charge quantities from another cold room. Use the requirements for this system.

Check Initial Operation and Defrost Recovery

A falling room temperature confirms cooling activity, but it doesn’t prove correct TXV control across operating conditions.

Assess Each Operating Stage

Sân khấu Observe Avoid
Startup and pull-down Pressure trends, làm mát, fans and compressor operation Setting final superheat from a startup snapshot
Representative steady load Outlet superheat, liquid supply and stability Checking room temperature alone
Near setpoint Low-load control and cycling Treating an empty-room test as full-load validation
Defrost recovery Drip time, fan restart, liquid feed and floodback indicators Mistaking a control delay for a component fault

After electric defrost, the controller may hold the fans off during drip time or coil cooling. Check the control sequence before diagnosing a fan or TXV fault.

Match defrost intervals, termination conditions and drip time to the equipment and application. Avoid universal settings.

Match Temperature and Pressure Measurements

Record pipe temperature and the corresponding pressure near the evaporator outlet. Identify the refrigerant, pressure units and exact test locations.

Don’t combine compressor inlet pressure with a remote evaporator outlet temperature without assessing suction-line pressure loss.

For calculations and adjustment procedures, see our TXV superheat adjustment and troubleshooting guide.

Adjust Only When the Findings Justify It

A new TXV may operate correctly without field adjustment. First confirm valve compatibility, cài đặt, luồng không khí và cung cấp chất lỏng.

If the equipment requires a setting change, follow the valve-specific procedure, log the adjustment and allow the system to stabilize. Never use adjustment to mask a piping or supply fault.

Troubleshoot Problems After Installation

Use symptoms to guide inspection, not to identify a failed component on their own.

Triệu chứng First checks Avoid
Poor cooling and high superheat Số đo, liquid supply, restrictions, valve and orifice Immediately increasing TXV flow
Quá nhiệt thấp luồng không khí, trọng tải, frost and bulb contact Diagnosing floodback from pipe frost alone
Fluctuating pressure and superheat Load changes, bulb response, valve sizing and supply stability Repeated back-and-forth adjustments
Low suction pressure after replacement Replacement specification and the entire liquid path Replacing the TXV again without diagnosis
Problems only after defrost Fan delay, feed recovery, bulb heating and controls Setting superheat during the transient
Uneven circuit performance Airflow distribution, distributor and branch tubes Assuming the TXV causes every imbalance

If the compressor knocks, severe floodback appears likely, or protection devices trip repeatedly, follow the equipment shutdown procedure and investigate. Don’t continue trial adjustments.

TXV Installation FAQs

Q1.Must the Bulb Sit 1.5 Metres from the Compressor?

No universal distance applies.

Choose a location that represents the evaporator outlet and follows the equipment and valve instructions.

Q2.Can the Bulb Capillary Replace the External Equalizer?

KHÔNG. The capillary transmits pressure within the sensing element.

The equalizer transmits system pressure to the valve. Keep their functions and connections separate.

Q3.Can You Hand Over the System After a Successful Leak Test?

Not yet.

Verify operating performance and relevant controls, then record the results and any test limitations.

Q4.What Should You Send for Remote Technical Support?

Provide valve and evaporator nameplates, refrigerant details, overall piping photos, bulb and equalizer close-ups, and measurements with test locations.

If the problem occurs only during pull-down, low load or defrost recovery, include that timing and the controller status. A pressure-gauge photo alone rarely provides enough information.

Phần kết luận

Match the components, install accurate temperature and pressure feedback, and verify operation under the relevant conditions. Keep clear records so installers and service teams can distinguish installation faults from load, supply and control problems.
